Warm Your House Using A Wood Pellet Stove Next Winter
Saturday, August 8th, 2009Warming your house can be rather expensive, especially when you live in a colder climate. Traditional home heaters and air conditioning systems can be very expensive to install and continue to cost a lot to run. However, there is an alternative way to get heat that is a cheaper and often better at providing heat for homes. Pellet stoves are the way to go; they heat the home thoroughly for about half the cost.
These stoves use small pellets that are made from recycled bits of wood or other compressed plants. Some types of stoves can use wood shavings and some of them, burn corn for fuel. The pellets are put in the stove, most of the time, towards the center, and are incinerated to produce a fire that can burn for more hours than most other materials. Additionally, log capable pellet stoves are available to provide your home with the rustic look of natural burning wood.
Pellet stoves burn wood, like a campfire. A fire is started to make heat that rises into venting system and is thus distributed about the dwelling.
Some pellet stoves may only come with a big iron door to close the stove while the fire is burning. But, there are also units that allow one to to see the fire. These pellet stoves have window glass on the door to allow the owner to look within and see how many pellets are already burned. Also, pellet stoves have a motor and parts to increase the efficiency of the burning and reduce toxins, before it releases the heat to the house.
Pellet stoves come in two types: top-fed and bottom fed. Before you run out and buy the first one you see, it is good to know which one is which.
Heating your house doesn’t have to be expensive. With the use of a pellet stove, you have an alternative to electric heaters and oil burning units. And they can save you a lot of money. Most units can pay for themselves after a couple years of use. As an eco-consumer, it is always nice to reap financial rewards of by using a less expensive and more efficient mode of heating your home. And it you can feel good knowing that you are using heat that does less harm to the environment.
